Professional Certificate in Marketing

In today's highly competitive global marketplace, marketing has become a crucial skill. With a Marketing Certificate from the UCR Extension, you learn the up-to-date principles, concepts and techniques to prepare you to contribute more to your organization and take on a new professional role.

Participants in this certificate program will obtain intensive, in-depth exposure to core marketing principles, as well as specific practices necessary to improve marketing skills. Practical in nature, this program provides participants with a wealth of opportunities to pursue personal and/or professional interests related to specific marketing techniques, media and styles. The program builds on a professional's interest in many related areas, including advertising and public relations, and is applicable to small and large organizations, businesses, government or nonprofits.

Who Can Benefit?

This program is designed for those seeking an understanding of the elements of marketing for both entry-level positions as well as career advancement. Although marketing is typically considered a business subject, certificate courses are appropriate for and open to anyone who can benefit from an intensive study in the field.

Completion Information

Completion Requirements

To earn this certificate, students must successfully complete (grade C or better) a total of 18 units: four required courses (12 units) and two elective courses (6 units).

Completion Time

The program can typically be completed in nine months to one year. All coursework must be completed within five years.

Cost

The cost for the program is approximately $3,500. This does not include textbooks or materials unless otherwise noted.

Transfer Credit

Equivalent courses from other accredited colleges and universities completed within the last three years will be considered for transfer, up to a total of four units. All requests must be in writing and students must have paid the certificate application fee. Official transcripts are required.
