Professional Certificate in Fiduciary Management

Hybrid or Online Program

This program is offered in two formats hybrid and online. The hybrid program combines face-to-face classroom instruction with online instruction and activities. This offers you the opportunity to observe and discuss ideas with other online students, classroom students and instructors. Attendance in the live and/or webcast sessions are mandatory.

If you are looking for a satisfying and rewarding career that makes a real difference in people's lives, being a Professional Fiduciary is for you. As the number of senior citizens and disabled adults grows, so does the need for conservators and estate administrators who can make the best possible decisions for them.

Professional fiduciaries are in a unique position of trust—one that requires unique skills and knowledge. In the UCR Extension Professional Fiduciary Certificate program, you'll learn:

  • Legal procedures and codes
  • Business standards of practice
  • Accounting and asset management
  • Ethics and more!

Whether you're starting a new career, you have a duty as a court-appointed trustee as a part of your current career or you want to feel confident managing an estate or acting as a personal financial representative for a loved one, the first step is a strong educational foundation.

When you take courses at UCR Extension, you'll also get:

  • The most up-to-date information about the law and current practices in the field
  • Access to leading experts who help prepare you for both the rewards and challenges of this fast-paced, growing career
  • A strong educational foundation to help you pass the newly required Professional Fiduciary state licensing exam, administered by the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

The need for guardians will only increase, particularly as more baby boomers retire and the laws governing elder care become more complex. Get started now on a new path to success!
