Seven Reasons to Bring UCR to Your Workplace

  1. Flexibility and Convenience
  2. On-site training can be held anywhere: at UCR, your headquarters, a branch office, a nearby conference center or hotel, or even at your company retreat or conference. You also have options in format: half-day sessions, full day, two-day programs or ongoing modules. Finally, you have flexibility in scheduling. Training can be delivered any day of the week, nights, weekends and even holidays – whatever makes it most convenient and cost effective for your organization.

  3. Customized Content
  4. It's your choice: choose one or multiple courses directly from our catalog or hand-tailor a highly customized program. Either way, all attendees receive the same consistent message, skills and concepts needed to significantly improve their work performance. Your course consultant will help you identity the appropriate curricula and materials to meet your specific needs. Hybrid classes – a combination of online and classroom – are also available and growing in popularity.

"The UCR Extension Custom Training Program was great. The instructor was professional and very insightful. My management team and I were able to customize the course material to fit the needs of our company, which made our course that much more valuable."
    Assistant Manager,
    Tools-R-Us, Inc., Montclair

  5. Increased Productivity
  6. Courses are designed so that knowledge gained can be immediately applied on the job. In addition to learning how to complete new tasks and take on more responsibility, employees learn advanced techniques to help them complete everyday tasks more efficiently. Not only does skill-based training teach employees how to do their jobs better, it also helps them work more independently.

    Herman Dean Stroud
"I know that our employees benefitted from this training. In a recent meeting, one of the program participants said that based on the training he received from UCR Extension, he had several examples to show that our department is exercising the current best management practices for facilities management. It definitely reassured me that this program was money well spent."
    Director, Los Angeles County Sheriff's
    Facilities Management Department, Alhambra

  7. Employee Satisfaction
  8. Investing in employees' skills makes them feel valued and appreciated. They also build the skills and confidence necessary to make better decisions every day, allowing them to keep pace with a quickly changing workplace. Employees that have received training are inspired to pull together as a team and have a greater sense of job satisfaction. Investing in their future yields higher morale, lower absenteeism, and greater company loyalty from your team members.

  9. Real-world Instructors
  10. Our professional network of industry and academic experts will show you how to put theory into practice. Benefit from their real-world experience and classroom savvy, along with guest speakers, case histories and hands-on work experiments. Your employees will readily bridge the gap between knowledge and implementation.

    John EppsJohn Epps, B.A.
"The students in these programs are looking for real-world training that they can put to use immediately. As an instructor, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the information you have just shared with a class being applied in the workplace."

    John Epps Associates, San Bernardino

  11. Cost Effective Training
  12. You may find yourself walking on a tightrope as you attempt to make budget-conscious choices while also trying to alleviate employees' stress and keep your workforce productive. The good news: you can implement training for your employees that is both effective and budget-conscious. Money allocated for training is not merely a cost; it is an investment in your most valuable asset – your people.

  13. ETP Funding
  14. Training opportunities are available for free or at a discount to eligible businesses. As a state economic program, the Employment Training Panel (ETP) supports the California economy by providing funds through Southeast Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board (SELACO) or Riverside County Economic Development Agency (EDA) to train the workforce.
