UC Riverside began in 1906 as an agricultural experiment station. Since then UC Riverside has developed a strong reputation in domestic and international agriculture. Today the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences is recognized as a world leader in agricultural research in citrus, turfgrass, nematology, and plant diseases, to name a few.
UCR Extension, in close collaboration with the College and the University's Cooperative Extension Program, provides a variety of programs of interest to everyone from advanced agricultural businessmen to average backyard gardeners.
