Law and Forensics
Stay on top of the latest information on the law, become a paralegal or learn the ins and outs of crime scene investigation through UCR Extension.
We offer a vast number of law-related, legal and public policy programs, many of which can fulfill mandatory continuing legal education (MCLE) requirements. Other programs help lawyers and judges expand their knowledge in important subjects, such as our unique "Science for Lawyers" program, that teaches the science behind the evidence such as DNA, genetics, neurobiology or statistics.
If you are interested in the investigative side of things, then crime scene investigation (CSI) or crime and intelligence analysis (CIA) may be the perfect career for you. You will learn the latest forensic science techniques from veteran law enforcement professionals working in the field today. Study real-life cases that will prepare you for the real world of forensic science. Our CIA courses and certificate are offered in cooperation with the California Department of Justice and can lead to state certification.
