Extension in the Community

Even if you don't want to take a class, UCR Extension still has opportunities for community members to get involved

Conversation Partners

International Education Programs is looking for native English speakers to spend a minimum of two hours each week with international students who need to practice English. Learn more about their countries and cultures, make new friends and help a student develop confidence in his or her English-speaking ability.

  • Volunteer Opportunities: Helping Us Helps You

Adult volunteers are needed to help register classes and assist instructors on the first night of classes.

In exchange for volunteer services, UCR Extension offers complimentary enrollments in its classes. Learn more about volunteer opportunities.

  • Teach for Us

Many of UCR Extension's instructors are working professionals, noted specialists and experts in the fields they are teaching. They have advanced and specialized education in their subjects, which enables students to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it immediately to their jobs. Most UCR Extension instructors teach just one or two courses on subjects in which they are experts. Learn more about becoming an instructor for UCR Extension.

  • Lifelong Learning Institute

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is an educational program for mature learners. Visit the OLLI website for more information.
