SBC CARES entry (track ii)

This track is for licensed child care providers (center based or family child care) with less than six semester units (9 quarter units) of early childhood education.

Center-Based Staff

Minimum Requirements:

• Three new early childhood education (ECE), English as a second language (ESL), or study skills units per year (C or higher) in addition to meeting general requirements.

Duration: Up to three years

• Participants advance to Permit Track upon completion of six ECE semester units (9 quarter units).
  

Family Child Care Providers

Minimum Annual Requirements:

• First Year: 15 hours Professional Growth or one ECE semester unit (1.5 quarter units)
• Second Year: 30 hours Professional Growth or two ECE semester units (3 quarter units)
• Third Year: 45 hours Professional Growth or three ECE semester units (4.5 quarter units)

Duration: Up to four years

• Participants advance to Permit Track upon completion of six ECE semester units (9 quarter units).
