2017 Summer Academy Dates: July 3-28, Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

The TEFL program prepares you with the skills needed to teach English as a foreign language in non-English-speaking countries. The hands-on approach to learning in this program has you teaching second-language learners within the first week of class!

This 4-week intensive program provides a practical curriculum which covers lesson planning in structure, conversation, reading, pronunciation and writing. Learn how to teach students who vary in level from beginner to advanced, and learn how to deliver lessons using a wide range of effective teaching techniques. This is not a “sit back and observe” kind of class. From week one, you will have the opportunity to practice your skills on actual ESL students to help you build the confidence and training you need to become a successful teacher.

This is an intensive summer academy, designed to prepare new teachers. You will complete all coursework in a face-to-face environment. The four courses and practicum must be completed as a single unit, over the 4-week period.
