Quarter 1

Principles of Special Events Management

An introductory course covering a broad spectrum of subjects pertinent to the planning, production, management and design of events. The Instructor will share and discuss numerous Event Case Studies, as well as invite additional speakers on specific subject matters. (Examples: Photographers, Lighting Production, Rentals, etc.)

Quarter 2

Developing and Managing Your Event Business

This course is designed to inspire you in making any event a memorable experience. You will be given the tools to develop your skills in building your event career by creating a small business plan model, collecting the necessary paperwork to start a business and developing your unique marketing plan as it relates to your target customers.

Marketing an Event Business

MGT X463.38

3 units

This course examines the processes of marketing an event planning business including traditional and social networking methods. The curriculum will include: creating and marketing a company brand, web design, search engine optimization, face-to-face networking, social web sites and pay per click advertising.
