CLAD through CTEL Certificate Program
(Cross-cultural Language and Academic Development Through California Teachers of English Learners)
State-Approved Program
Education Extension offers this program leading to a CLAD through CTEL Certificate in collaboration with UCLA and UCSD. The program, designed to meet the needs of teachers, can be offered either in late afternoon or weekend classes at a district site as well as at the Extension Center.
CLAD through CTEL Certification
This program is designed to meet the new academic requirements of California’s Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) for training for the CLAD Through CTEL California Teachers of English Learners certificate. It is directed to the following groups:
- Credentialed teachers who want to teach ESL or provide content instruction for English learners in the K-12 system
- Credentialed teachers with a Supplementary Authorization in ESL or Introductory ESL who want to provide content instruction for English learners.
