1. How long does it take to complete the Certificate?

It usually takes one year to complete the program, depending on your personal schedule and responsibilities, or you can complete it in two months if you take the GIS Summer School.

2. Can I earn the Certificate online?

Not at this time. The Certificate requires hands-on learning in the computer lab and this cannot be replicated in an online or distance format. You may, however, earn up to 4.5 units of the Certificate with online software classes. Please see "Completion Requirements" for details.

3. How much will it cost to complete the program?

The total cost of the program including texts and parking is about $4600. This amount varies depending on the elective courses you choose.

5. Do I need to take the courses in any particular sequence?

You may take courses in any order, however, we highly recommend that you begin with Practical Approaches to Implementing GIS and end with GIS Applications Lab.
