Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management Certificate

UCR Extension has offered separate certificates in Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management over the past two decades. This newly revised program reflects a trend toward the integration of purchasing, logistics and supply chain management activities and functions, which reflects the realization that many professionals in the Inland Empire are responsible for many, if not all, of these functions.

Objectives
The program consists of three required courses examining the breadth of purchasing, logistics and supply chain management principles and practice. The courses include Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management and Current Issues and Case Studies in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management.

The elective courses allow participants to specialize and focus on specific topics and/or roles within their respective field. This allows participants to gain both the breadth and depth commonly required within today's professions.

Who Can Benefit
This program is designed for professionals in the field as well as those who may be new to management or supervisory roles within the field.  The program may also benefit those who are looking to enter new roles in purchasing management, warehousing, operations management within logistics or supply chain organizations, supervisors and managers in transportation related fields (e.g. trucking, rail or intermodel transportation firms) or professionals who need to develop the skills and abilities to more effectively manage purchasing, logistics or supply chain management functions.
