Certificate Requirements
Participants in the certificate program must complete all 15 units of the required courses.
Admission
The RtI certificate is open to anyone who has an interest in the content area being pursued in the certificate program. Individuals not pursuing a certificate may enroll in any course with the instructor’s approval and if all prerequisites have been met.
To Enroll in the Program
An application must be filed along with a nonrefundable fee of $50. It is recommended students apply before starting the third course in the program. The nonrefundable fee covers academic advisement, tracking of progress/completion, and updates on program changes and additions. Application forms are available in Extension’s quarterly catalog, at Student Services, in program department offices and on the Web site at www.extension.ucr.edu.
Transfer Credit
Up to 3 quarter units of credit from other institutions is permitted if the courses relate directly to the content of certificate coursework. Applicable courses taken through University Extension prior to application may be counted toward the certificate. Coursework must be taken within the last five years. Requests for transfer credit must be in writing and official transcripts must accompany the request. The requests for transfer credit must be approved by the Director of Education Extension.
Certificate Program Completion
After all course requirements have been satisfied, a candidate may request that his or her certificate be issued. Upon verification of program completion, a certificate will be issued.
Scheduling of Classes
Generally, certificate candidates may complete the program within one year. Courses are offered evenings during the week and on weekends.
