What is STEM? Learn to understand the connections between curriculum standards and STEM competencies. You will discuss the newest trends in today's classrooms and explore:

  • Common Core State Standards
  • Next Generation Science Standards
  • English Language Development Standards
  • problem-based learning
  • problem solving
  • critical thinking

You will learn how to make the interdisciplinary connections required for successful teaching in a 21st Century learning environment, and become proficient in using the NRC Framework for K-12 Science education; the NGSS: incorporating ELA and Math Common Core Standards in a science unit; developing STEM units of instruction; and increasing student engagement.

Mr. Hudec has been a noted presenter at several National Science Teachers Association Conferences and California Science Teachers Conferences.
