Students attend two morning classes and two classes in the afternoon. A copy of the student’s latest report card is required on or before July 14. A parent letter and materials list will be mailed prior to the beginning of the program.

AM I

Hands-On Geometry
Have fun creating a variety of three-dimensional geometric shapes by using square paper without cutting or pasting. These three-dimensional models help you understand and explore mathematical concepts such as symmetry, angles, congruence and similarity. In addition to learning geometric content, you will improve your spatial skills. (1.1 Garnet)

Thinking Small: Exploring the World of Micro-Science (full)
Have you ever wondered what an insect looks like up close? Have you ever wished you could explore the tiny universe hidden within a drop of pond water? Science is on the brink of a revolution at the nanoscale, and you can experience it up close and personal in this class. Learn the difference between macroscopic and microscopic and that even things viewed within the microscopic world are vastly different in size. The exciting new field of nanotechnology is explored. Puzzle Me This: Puzzle Me That
Have you had the "Ah-ha" experience when you solved a puzzle? In this class you will be exposed to a variety of puzzles using words, numbers, shapes, pictures and maps. This class will stretch your intelligence while you are engaged in these fun and stimulating activities. (1.3 Garnet)

You and the Law
Do you have an interest in the law or a desire to act? Experience both in this introduction to the procedures, rules and legal process of a mock trial. You will gain knowledge of the legal system and criminal process. Learn about the role of the judge, attorney, defendant, plaintiff, bailiff and clerk. You will participate in a mock trial. Art With Pizzazz!
Young artists can enjoy the unique experience of exploring their creative talents visually by creating art using simple everyday materials. The emphasis is on creating and developing your own artistic ability. On the last day, you will participate in an art show, highlighting everyone's art. (1.5 Peterson)

Using Technology As a Tool for Research and Presentations
Would you like to expand your knowledge of computers, learn more about PowerPoint and how to design a Web page through hands-on experience? Discover ways to refine your presentation materials by experimenting with graphics, interactive elements, animation and sound and exploration of information links. (1.6 McCabe)

Be a Star
Be a part of the magic of live theater. In our theater there will be a role for everyone! Learn the basics of acting and successful stage performance by learning fun and easy skills to steal the show. The final day will include a class performance. (1.7 Peterson)

On the Road to Success
Create your own society, print your own money, open your own business and learn to live successfully within a community of your own design. You can keep business records, write advertisements or become a banker, newspaper writer, insurance broker or self-made millionaire. (1.8 Kroeger)
