Transferability of University Extension Credit
The University of California: For purposes of admission to the University of California, credit earned in University Extension X100, X200 and a limited number of X300 series courses is accepted toward degree requirements on the same basis as credit transferred from another institution. Grade points earned are counted only for purposes of admission. Extension courses do not count toward the residence requirements of the University of California, nor do they yield grade points after admission.
Resident students must have approval from the appropriate Dean prior to enrollment in Extension courses.
Graduate students desiring to use credit earned in Extension toward a master’s degree or a University-recommended teaching credential should consult with their graduate advisor and the Graduate Division before undertaking such courses.
Other colleges and universities: Students should consult with the institution to verify acceptance of credit prior to enrolling in University Extension courses.
Credentials: See our Credential Section for applicability of University Extension courses to credentials.
