What is L.I.F.E.?
- An organization of INCURABLY CURIOUS retirement-age adults who desire intellectual stimulation in an informal environment. Membership is open to all who have an appetite for continuing learning. No affiliation with the University of California Riverside is required.
- L.I.F.E. provides a productive outlet for creative energies by providing involvement in university life – without tests, grades or credits. L.I.F.E. activities include lectures, study groups, seminars, educational trips and special events, all held during daytime hours.
- L.I.F.E. members choose their own study topics and learning formats. The organization is self-governing under the sponsorship of UCR Extension
- Study groups, seminars and lectures are held at the UCR Extension Center, 1200 University Ave., on Tuesdays, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm, September through June. Study groups meet Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Educational field trips are scheduled on various days.
- An annual fee of $110 per person is charged, payable to Regents-UC.
Since L.I.F.E. Society is run by its members through elected officers and committees, members are encouraged to join one of the group's working committees.
