Identify feathered friends in UCR Extension's birding class
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Whether you're a beginning bird watcher or a professional ornithologist, everyone has the opportunity to spot a feathered treasure in UCR Extension's class A Field Study of Birds: Winter. Instructor Eugene Cardiff, retired curator of Natural History at the San Bernardino County Museum, leads students to birding hotspots throughout Southern California. The course emphasis is on waterfowl, gulls, and birds of prey. The class first meets from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 at San Bernardino County Museum, 2024 Orange Tree Lane, San Bernardino. After that, students meet at the museum on Jan. 17, 24, 31, Feb. 14, and 28 for Saturday field trips.
This course may be taken twice to earn credit toward the Specialized Study Program in Field Ornithology. The fee for this class is $219 per person or $199 for couples and family members or $185 each with PINE discount.
