Light up your child’s summer with UCR Extension’s one-week summer science camp for GATE children
RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – GATE children entering seventh and eighth grades this fall can spend one week this summer exploring the mysteries of sound and light in the GATE Summer Science Camp, which begins Monday, June 23 at UCR Extension, 1200 University Ave. Students participate in daily activities Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
During the week, students will measure the speeds of sound and light, work with lasers, discover the science behind optical illusions, and learn the secrets of fiber optics.
