Green design class at UCR Extension teaches homeowners to transform their dwellings into eco-chic
RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – "Green design" has become a buzzword among industry giants and large corporations, but did you know that as a simple home dweller, you too can transform your home into a healthy, sustainable and beautiful abode? Interior designer Mary Martin-O’Shea, owner of Desert Interior Design in Palm Desert, will teach students how to create an eco-chic home environment in the class Green: The Color of Our Future, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 and Saturday, May 10 at the UCR Palm Desert Graduate Center, 75-080 Frank Sinatra Drive.
In this class, students learn about the philosophy of sustainability in interior design and how to practice it. Students investigate a variety of products that not only are beautiful and affordable, but also promote healthy, safe environments and social responsibility. This class is part of UCR Extension’s certificate program in Interior Design. The fee is $145.
