Learn how to write your life's story in UCR Extension's memoir writing class
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Everyone has a story to tell, a life they are living that is worth sharing. Whether it is for your children, family, friends, or the world, you can learn how to write your story so that it is entertaining, poignant, engaging and readable. Find out how in UCR Extension's class, Writing Your Life's Story, which meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at UCR Extension, 1200 University Ave.
Instructor Michael Foley will show you a step-by-step approach that covers the life history writing process from the original idea to completing a manuscript. You will learn how to give yourself permission to write, decide what to share and what to omit, and how to find the story beneath the surface. Fundamentals such as organizing materials, researching the details, revising and self-editing and how to get published also will be covered.
The class fee is $95 per person.
