Investigate the methods that museum educators use to educate and entertain visitors in UCR Extension's new class
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Just like sports arenas and entertainment centers, museums are reinventing themselves in this era of technological revolution. But one thing has not changed; museum educators still seek to teach the public in creative ways. In UCR Extension's new class, Museum Education, students explore how today's museums serve as informal educational centers designed to teach and entertain visitors. Museum Education is offered Tuesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 13 and ending March 3, 2009 at the UCR Extension Center, 1200 University Ave., Riverside.
This class is designed for those who currently work or volunteer in a museum or for those who might be interested in a museum career. Find out which techniques museum educators employ to pique the curiosity of their guests and help satisfy their thirst for knowledge. Two separate field trips to two museums are planned.
The class fee is $195.
