Spend four days camping, horseback riding and roaming with the wild mustangs of the Sierra Nevada
RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – Get away from the madness of city life and spend four days riding horses, camping under the stars and watching free roaming herds of wild mustangs on the Montgomery Pass Wild Horse Range in the Pizona Area and in Inyo National Forest. UCR Extension offers this all-inclusive wilderness horseback riding and camping adventure from Saturday, May 24 through Tuesday, May 27. Students meet in Bishop and must provide for their own accommodations on Friday night only. Camping equipment and food are provided once the adventure begins.
The program includes a series of informal but structured presentations and discussions, led by experienced guides and guest speakers, focusing on the history, social behavior and uncertain future of these majestic animals. The mixture of organized time and free personal time will permit each person ample opportunity to enjoy this pristine environment. This is an excellent trip for the beginning rider. The fee is $725.
