Extension course helps Spanish speakers improve their reading, writing and oral translation skills
RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – The rapid globalization of businesses has fueled a surge in demand for translation services. Translators are needed to review everything from interoffice memos to pages on the World Wide Web, and effective translation provides lucrative rewards.
In UCR Extension’s class, Spanish Reading and Writing Skills for Bilingual Interpreters, students who already understand Spanish at a high or intermediate proficiency level can develop their reading comprehension, writing and oral skills. The 7-week class is offered from 6 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and begins on June 23, 2008. Those working in professions that require Spanish skills can benefit from this class.
The class fee is $185. For more information about the class, contact Veronica Hernandez at (951) 827-5801 or arts@ucx.ucr.edu.
