Acquiring a UCR NetID: Step-By-Step

UCR Extension participates in a campus-wide identification system that uses a NetID to provide access to the campus wireless network, online resources and classes using Blackboard and Moodle. Additional information.

Getting Started

UCR Extension NetID Self-Service - Getting StartedTo set up your NetID, click on UCR Extension NetID Account Self-Service to get started. You will need the temporary login ID and temporary password from the e-mail you received to create your NetID.

Copy and paste the temporary login ID and temporary password from the e-mail into the appropriate fields on the UCR Extension NetID Service Web page. The password is case sensitive.

Accept the Policy Agreement

NetID Self-Service - Policy AgreementIn order to obtain a NetID, you must agree to accept the UCR Account Policies & Guidelines, and the UCR Wireless Policies and Guidelines. These two documents address the use of UCR's technology infrastructure by faculty, staff and students.

Create New Account or Use Existing Account

If you don't already have a NetID, click the Get a New NetID button to set up your account.

If you already have a NetID, click Use My Existing NetID to link your UCR Extension NetID to your existing NetID.

Important: If you already have a NetID, please do not create another one.

New Account

UCR Extension NetID Self-Service - Set PasswordIf you clicked Get a New NetID, the next step is to create a password for your account. The NetID will be assigned by the system. Enter your password twice, making sure that it's at least 6 characters, with a minimum of two alphabetic characters and one non-alphabetic character.

New Account - Bad Password

UCR Extension NetID Self-Service - Set Good PasswordIf your password does not meet the requirements, you will need to try again.

New Account - Confirmation

UCR Extension NetID Self-Service - ConfirmationIf you enter a valid password, you will see your NetID. Write down your password since it will not be included in the e-mail confirmation you will receive. Please remember that the password is case sensitive. If you forget your NetID, it can be retrieved for you by Student Services at UCR Extension, but there is no way for you to access the information yourself.

Existing Account

UCR Extension NetID Self-Service - Existing AccountIf you clicked Use My Existing NetID, enter your NetID and password in the appropriate fields and click Submit.

Existing Account - Bad NetID or Password

UCR Extension NetID Self-Service - Incorrect CredentialsIf your NetID or password is entered incorrectly, you will need to try again. Please remember that the password is case sensitive.

Existing Account - Confirmation

UCR Extension NetID Self-Service - Link SuccessIf you enter a valid NetID and password, you will see confirmation that your accounts have been linked. You may use your pre-existing NetID to access UCR Extension Blackboard or wireless services.

 

Blackboard users: If you are using your NetID for Blackboard, you will need to wait until 9 AM on the next business day before you can log in through ilearn.ucr.edu - CAS. Your Blackboard class will not be accessible until the day it starts (listed in the UCR Extension Course Catalog).

If you need help completing the NetID process, you can send an e-mail message to netidhelp@ucx.ucr.edu. Please describe your NetID issue and someone will get back to you within two hours from 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Friday, and 9 am - 6 pm on Saturdays.
