What is Osher?
The University of California, Riverside's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute was created to provide people over the age of 50 the opportunity to continue their education through stimulating courses taught in a variety of subjects.
Our courses and lectures are only open to Osher members so learning takes place in a peer environment. With no tests or entrance exams, no grades or even minimum educational background restrictions, Osher learners have common bonds of intellectual curiosity and the experience of their generation.
Classes and lectures are taught by distinguished professors and experts in the field. They are generally offered in the daytime, Monday through Friday, with some Saturday classes.
What makes the Osher program special?
Sponsored by the Bernard Osher Foundation, Osher provides a unique learning opportunity for people 50 and above to learn with their peers and without the pressure of graded work or exams. The only requirement for Osher membership is a love of learning and a desire to open your mind to new ideas and concepts. Visit our Class Schedule page.
