Then the LIFE Society is for you.
Are You Retired or Semi-retired from Your Job — But Not from Life?
The LIFE (Learning Is ForEver) Society is a self-governing learning organization for retirement-age adults who desire intellectual stimulation in an informal environment. Membership is open to all who have an appetite for continuing learning. While the program is affiliated with UC Riverside Extension, no affiliation with the University of California, Riverside is required for participants.
LIFE provides a productive outlet for creative energies by providing involvement in university life, including lectures, study groups, seminars, educational trips and special event – without tests, grades or credits.
Meeting Dates and Times
Study groups, seminars and lectures are held every Tuesday (September through June) from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the UCR Extension Center, 1200 University Ave. in Riverside. Educational field trips are scheduled on various days.
Membership
Membership in the LIFE Society is $110 per year.

Judge John G. Gabbert was born in 1909 and recalls vividly his experiences as a boy growing up in Riverside from 1915 to 1941. Those accounts were recorded and are told by him with supporting vintage photographs to enhance his delightful story-telling style.
The DVDs – "Riverside, My Riverside," covering the years from 1915 to 1925, and "When All the World Was Young," covering the years from 1927 to 1941 – are available for a contribution of $20 each.
