When we feel buffeted by the turbulence of these unsettled times, how do we regain a sense of control over our lives? One way is to turn to the institutions we have always counted on, that were built on a solid foundation, and are still there to provide a steady hand when we need it. For more than fifty years, UCR Extension has been an anchor in our community and a place to turn when we need to steady ourselves. A place of personal power.

And if you think about it, education is all about personal power. When we build our skills, challenge ourselves to master new disciplines and dare to reinvent ourselves, the power of knowledge is transferred to us. With every course completed, credential earned and certificate granted, we become more powerful individuals, able to survive and thrive in our unsettled environment. We have earned the power to change our careers, our communities and our lives, and to take back some of the control we may have felt slipping away.
