The Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), fosters improvement through an accreditation process that is a dynamic, results-based approach supporting a school's overarching structure for change. This course examines the role/responsibilities of the visiting committee and provides an understanding of necessary preparations by committee members and school personnel to facilitate the visit and make it successful. The course emphasizes the leadership role of the visiting committee chair, who acts as "coach" for the school throughout the self-study process, as "keeper of the vision" of ongoing school improvement and as the manager and leader of the visit to the school.
