A three-day conference in which educators explore issues that affect learning and gifted and talented students. Topics include: underachievers in gifted education; technology in the future; science and the gifted child; working with cultural and language diversity in gifted students; methods for teaching students critical thinking; brain research; GATE standards; standardized assessment; student accountability; the achievement gap among the gifted; gifted students and poverty; challenging ESL students who are gifted; differentiated curriculum; the at-risk gifted; the social and emotional aspects of being gifted.
