Energy Auditing-Principles and Practices

Surveys the fundamental knowledge, skills and experience necessary to conduct energy audits for residential, commercial and industry structures. Participants explore how to evaluate facility energy usage and opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce energy usage and the introduction of conservation measures. Topics include the building envelope, heat flow, R and U values, walls, roofs, windows, energy management, lighting, HVAC systems, ventilation, hot water systems, water conservation and utility usage. This course helps participants prepare to pursue Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or Certified Energy Auditor in Training (CEAIT) credentials offered by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
