Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers and associated software programs are becoming a standard method of collecting data for use in GIS. You will utilize various GPS units for collection of data using ESRI ArcPad software with ArcGIS Desktop version 10. This intensive and hands-on course provides:

  • An introduction to GPS and examines basic signal structure
  • Error and accuracy issues
  • Data correction techniques
  • Geodesy
  • Data collection techniques
  • GPS to GIS applications

Ms. Jordan is responsible for the maintenance of all campus spatial features including structural, landscaping, transportation and utilities. This data is then disseminated to the campus-wide community. Additionally, she utilizes this data to support the decision making process for Capital Resource Management, Architects & Engineers and the Office of Sustainability.
