A presentation of advanced topics on urban design, investigating conceptual topics on how to design the public realm, understanding the pedestrian environment, the importance of streets and street design, and how buildings help shape the built environment. Examines processes for:

  • conducting site inventories
  • site analysis
  • visual assessments
  • how to successfully communicate design concepts

The development review process and the importance of understanding codes, zoning, and land use regulations in the context of urban design are also discussed.
