Content and Methods for Teaching Advanced Placement Physics I & II

Exploration of the redesigned Physics B courses Physics I and Physics II, to enable AP* students to develop a better understanding of content and focused application of knowledge through inquiry labs. Topics include

  • Newtonian mechanics
  • electric circuits
  • fluid mechanics
  • thermodynamics
  • electricity and magnetism
  • optics and atomic and nuclear physics

You will also have an overview of the AP* Physics I & II Curriculum Framework, covering a variety of content specific topics organized under seven "big ideas" that articulate the foundational principles of introductory physics. Planning and teaching methods for effective AP* Physics I and AP* Physics II classes and exams are discussed.
