A final project-based or performance-based assessment to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of STEM education. The assessment should highlight competencies related to your teaching practices in:

  • mathematics
  • science
  • engineering

An assessment of the needs of underrepresented student groups will also be incorporated. This course may only be taken after all required and elective courses have been satisfactorily completed.

close [x] Carlos Gonzalez, M.Ed., Director, MESA (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement) Schools Program, UC Riverside. MESA is one of the country's most innovative and successful programs, working with educationally disadvantaged students so they excel in math and science, and graduate with math-based degrees. Mr. Gonzalez is a regular speaker at state and regional educator training programs, and an annual presenter at the California STEM Symposium. He specializes in creating and developing curriculum for secondary STEM educators, and instructs them on methods and practices pertaining to Inquiry- and Project-Based Learning.
