Instructional Design and Differentiation in a Social Science Common Core Classroom

Designed to give an in-depth analysis and comprehensive of overview of California's Social Science and History Common Core State Standards, and how to use them in your lesson planning and instruction. You will learn to design units of study that focus on the guiding principles and skills that students will develop throughout each lesson. These lessons will use strategic pedagogy that lends itself to include direct instruction and project-based learning. You will:

  • incorporate depth of knowledge
  • build complexity over time
  • complete formative and performance-based assessments
  • develop an understanding of how to analyze student works to meet these standards
