About the Course
Gain a working knowledge of the paralegal's role through an internship position in a law firm, corporate in-house counsel's office, law-related public agency, or other legal setting. You need to enroll at least 10 weeks in advance to allow time for background checks and placement.
- Work directly under the supervision of an attorney or paralegal in an agency or law firm, as arranged and approved by the Internship Coordinator
- Identify and accomplish individualized learning goals related to legal practice
- Assess and understand the structure of the law office or agency
- Perform substantive tasks and acquire an understanding of the duties of a paralegal in that professional environment
- Apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to the professional world
