Participants survey the major aspects of labor-employee relations in union and non-union environments. Topics include:

  • Constructive employee discipline and employee relations issues
  • Current laws and compliance; the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), sexual harassment, discrimination, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Wrongful discharge

Time is also given to discuss strategies to help maintain proactive communication with employees and current issues in employee relations.

Fenstermaker III, M.A., President, Fenstermaker & Associates Training and Consulting since1993 where he subcontracted training service to a national training company for fortune 500 companies. In the private sector, over 25 years in management positions such as employee relations, labor relations, training and development, and human resources, with  experience is in manufacturing, petrochemicals, transportation, and supply chain logistics organizations. He was awarded the Instructor Excellence Award in 2013 from UCRX, and teaches for the University of Redlands. During his teaching career he has taught over 71 face-to-face college classes with 865 students, while teaching 106 online college classes for 2100 students.
